Fish Hook Removal

How to remove a fish hook from yourself.

Fish long enough and you’re bound to hook yourself. This video demonstrates a fish hook removal method that can keep you fishing without a trip to the doctor. And I don’t just tell you how, I actually stick a barbed #2 hook in my leg and then remove it. To make it even more interesting, it was shot at 1500 frames per second, so you won’t miss a thing. It should go without saying, but don’t try this at home. Thanks to Loren Ekart for filming and editing. Also, thank you to Phil Monahan at Orvis for your support and helping promote the video.

Wow…so I would have been totally OK with you using a size 24 beatis hook to demonstrate the pulling the hook out. The slow motion skin ripple….you can’t unsee that!
